Kim McCahan Batson
With a background serving C- and VP-level executives, governing boards, congregants, the retail public, and as a property owner's assistant, Kim has offered outstanding customer service to a variety of stakeholders. She has extensive experience providing marketing/publicity support to non-profits, churches, and small businesses (WebTheWord.com). Kim’s interest in real estate was piqued by assisting an employer in the renting and upkeep of investment properties.
Kim’s community activities include serving as Captain/Walker of a top-tier fundraising team in the annual NC NamiWalks; website upkeep and Board of Directors member (BOD Chair since June 2023) for Faith Connections on Mental Illness; webmaster for Friends of St. Paul AME; and preparing publicity and registration materials for St. Paul Village Community Annual 5K Walk/Run. Other spare time activities include reading, photography, and creating unique custom candles (Dèjá UCandle™ Co). Kim and her husband, a retired special education teacher, belong to Episcopal Church of the Holy Family, Chapel Hill, and are parents to five amazing adults and boastful grandparents for three youngsters. A resident of Chapel Hill since 2007, Kim has spent most of her adult life in North Carolina (including Wilmington, Franklin, and Sylva). Her childhood and youth were spent in SC, GA, CO, PA, NC (Ft. Bragg & Fayetteville), and Alabama. Kim's special affinity for the members of our armed forces stems from her years as a military brat as well as close family members who have served.
